Abstract:

Early childhood education has always been a great concern of parents. They tend to look for quality schools which they can assure them of a very satisfactory formation for their children. This descriptive study aimed to find out the extent of influence Personalized Education Program has on the human development of early Filipino learners through the perception of teachers implementing the program and some parents whose children study in 3 schools which use this program. This educational program is inspired by the beliefs, insights, attitudes and values of St. Pedro Poveda, a UNESCO honored educator and humanist. The findings indicate that Personalized Education Program has influenced the human development of early learners to a great extent which includes the following areas: cognitive and language development, psychosocial and emotional development, spiritual and moral development and physical and motor development. Moreover, a significant difference of the extent of influence of the program was found between physical and motor development and psychosocial and emotional development. To gather data from teachers, a researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather data from teachers and a researcher formulated questions to interview the parents. Since the study was based on the perceptions of teachers and some parents, an in-depth study is highly recommended by the researcher.
