This action research aimed at determining the use of varied audio-visual aids in improving the performance in Mathematics of the Grade Three Humility pupils of Saint Mary's Academy of Capiz, Roxas City. The investigation started on October 6 and ended on November 21,2003. To have the background information about the subjects, the researcher took into consideration the final ratings of the pupils in Mathematics. An interview was conducted to find out the pupils' attitude and interest towards the subject. Results of the first grading quizzes and grades were also considered. For a period of six weeks, an intervention was given. Varied audio-visual aids were used during the lessons. The researcher conferred with the subject teacher from time to time. Observation of the Mathematics class was conducted in order to monitor and assist the subject teacher. Pretest and posttest were administered to find out the result of the intervention. The mean was computed and the significant difference was determined using the t-test . The result of the study showed that the use of varied audio-visual aids has helped improve the performance of the Grade III Pupils in Mathematics. Hence, it is highly recommended that audio-visual aids be used in the classroom regularly to improve the performance of the pupils.
