Abstract:

This study aimed to determine the effect of crude snail extract on general microbial biofilm population from a selected water dispenser. Thid study employs an experimental method. The biofilm scraping were collected from a selected water dispenser filter. There were treatments, one with crude snail egg extract, and one with normal saline solution only. The microbial biofilm population were assessed at 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours, using the serial dilution and the spread plate technique. Results of the T- test ( =0.05) showed that there is significant differences in the two treatemnts; thereby signifying that the crude snail egg extract is effective in controlling the growth of the general microbial biofilm population from water dispenser filter.
