The purpose of this study was to construct lefkovitch matrix model for the visayan warty pig population and use it to estimate the long term survivorship in the captivity of the species which critically endanged. The population and survivorship projection studies was 30 years. Descriptive method of research was used in this study in order to construct the lefkovitch matrix model. The reseachers utilized the data from the studbook of Mari-it wildlife conservation park. A lefkovitch matrix model for visayan warty pig was constructed using the data that include visayan warty pigs life stages, past and present population size for each stage, fecundity and mortality rate, and annual survivorship. The researhers used octave software for continous multiplication of lefkovitch matrix model and single column matrix whic represents population of each stage in t- years for population projection in t-+ n years. The software was also used to compute eigen values with associated eigenvalues. Results of the study showed that the population of the visayan warty pig within the Mari-it conservation park increases as indicated by the dominant eigenvalue of the lefkovitch matrix model which is 1.5466. However, this rate at which the population increases becomes constant overtime simultaneously making the stage distribution table. This emans the ration of population distribution by stage is the same. Seventeen years after 2014, the population reaches its stable stage distribution that is, in 2031. When this occurs, theeeee total population will consist of 48.27% immature, 26.85% juvenile, and 24.88% adult.
