Hiligaynon as a medium of instruction: perceived by primary teachers in the district of San Miguel, Iloilo

Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the perception of primary grade teachers in the use of Hiligaynon as the medium of instrcution in the district of San Miguel during the SY 2014-2015. The descriptive design employed 30 randomly selected primary teachers in the district of San Miguel. Using a validated qustionnaire checklist, the result revealed that teachers were classified as an entire group "high" teaching perceptions. This means that they have a high positive view in using MTB-MLE as the medium of instruction. And when classified according to age, those teachers who were 20-30, 31-40, amd 51-60 years old got high teaching perceptions while teachers who were 41 -50 got an average. For the lenght of service teachers who got 0-10 and 21-30 years of service got a high teaching perceptions while those who have 11-20 years of service got an average of teaching perceptions.
