The major goal of this study is to determine the levels of listening comprehension skills in the Mother Tongue of Grade One pupils in Leganes, Iloilo during the school year 2015-2016. This study could help the teachers and the parents to develop the listening comprehension skills of the children. The participants in this study were 30 Grade One pupils from one of the public elementary school in Iloilo. They were randomly pupils. The instruments used in this study were two selections of stories or big books and a set of comprehension questions belonging to three dimensional levels: literal, inferential, and integrative. The response are rated using a point system. One point if the answer is correct but not complete, 2 points if the answer is correct and complete and 0 if there is no answer. To find the results the mean percentage and standard deviations were used for the descriptive statistics. T-test and one-way Anova were used. This study employed descriptive design; the main goal of this type of research is to describe the data and characteristics about what is being studied. The idea behind this type of research is to study frequencies, averages, and other statistical calculations.
