Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the comprehension and composition skills of Grade Two Special Science Class pupils in Hiligaynon. The descriptive and inferential design was employed to 32 purposively selected Grade 2 Special Science pupils. Using a validated test-questionnaire, the result revealed that the level of comprehension and composition skills of Grade 2 Special Science Class pupils when taken as a group is “high”, this means that they have high positive view for the subject Hiligaynon. When comprehension and composition skills are grouped according to sex and birth order, the Grade 2 Special Science Class have “high” level except for the male who had an average result in their composition skills. In terms of their academic performance, as a whole and grouped according to sex it is outstanding. The result also revealed that there is no significant difference in the level of comprehension and composition skills of Grade two Special Science Class pupils in terms of sex and birth order. Among the three, the comprehension skills, composition skills and academic performance there is a significant relationship with each other
