Objective :This study aimed to determine the antibacterial and antifungal potential of Althernanthera sesiiles ( Lupo )leaves expressed juice using Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans. Methodology : Expressed juice of Alternanthera sessiles was evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans . Kirby –Bauer technique , minimum antibacterial concentration and minimum inhibitory concentration were used in the assay. Results : Alternanthera sessiles ( Lupo ) expressed juice possessed an antibacterial activity exhibiting an MIC of < 100 ug/ml against Escherichia coli referenced strain used. A low MIC of 252.5 ug/ml against Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans.
